Skyfun 2026 Opening Ceremony and Welcome Lunch

On February 24th, which is the 8th day of the Lunar New Year, Skyfun officially back to work. We choose the 8th day because the number 8 means making a fortune in Chinese culture, so it is a very good start for 2026.

To celebrate the opening, we prepared a lot of things. In the morning, we lit the traditional red firecrackers outside the company gate. They were super loud. While we are standing there, a piece of red paper debris flew and hit right on Wendy’s head. She laughed and said she just got a "headshot". Our colleagues joked that this is actually a very good omen, meaning the good luck is falling on her head. It was completely safe and painless, just like a small paper thrown at you, but it makes everyone laugh.

Before going inside, we took a company group photo. We asked the security uncle at the gate to help us take the picture. He tried his best, and even though the photo turned out a bit blurry and not very clear, we still love it because everyone is smiling.

Then our CEO, Sunny, stand in the office to give out the red envelopes (Lai See) to everyone. Every employee went up to get the envelope and say some blessing words to Sunny. We wish the company to get massive orders this year, and wish Sunny good health. It is a very warm moment for the team.

To wake everyone up from the long holiday, we played a quick interactive game. The rule is simple, the host shout a number, and you must find people to hug together to match that number in 3 seconds. It was pure chaos. When the number is called, people run around. Sometimes two teams are fighting to pull the same person to their group to make the numbers right. If your reaction is too slow, you might run to one group and get rejected, then run to the next group and get rejected again! It was so funny and really helped break the ice and bring our relationship closer.

After the game, we do our annual Time Capsule. Actually, our time capsule is just an empty snack packaging canister. We keep it on the bookshelf in Sunny’s office all year. Old employees opened the canister to see the cards they wrote in 2025 to see if they achieve their goals. Then everyone write new cards for 2026. The plans are not just about work target. Some people plan to lose weight, some want to travel, go to concert, or read more books. Also some write about their marriage plans. Sunny really encourage this, because he wish everyone can finish their life goals smoothly. We put all the new cards into the canister and seal it.

Then it is time to eat cake and snacks. We bought many common snacks like candies, chocolate, Sprite, Coke, snow crackers and reconstituted milk. We also prepare strawberries and blueberries, because in Chinese, berry sounds like "Mei" (meaning nothing), so it means no difficulties and no worries this year. When we cut the Opening cake, we specially adjust the text direction on the cake to face the photographer. To show our team spirit, many of us put our hands on Sunny’s hand to press the cake knife down together. We work as one heart.

By noon time, we are all very hungry. Instead of going to restaurant, we ordered food and eat our company reunion lunch together. Brian and Aoin went to pick up the meals and bring back the heavy packed rice. The lunch is mostly all kinds of stir-fried meat. We have pork with green peppers, pork with eggs, pork with eggplants, and pork with onions. There are also potatoes and just a few green vegetables.

We sat together eating the hot dishes, chatting happily about our holiday life, the interesting customs in our hometowns, and the places we visited.

The factory and office get busy again in the afternoon. With all the good wishes and a full stomach, Skyfun team is ready to do great jobs in 2026.
